A 3D Printed Ti6Al4V Alloy Uniaxial Capacitive Accelerometer

3D-printing techniques are attracting a lot of interest in the sensors community as promising fabrication processes that guarantee customizability at low costs. In this work, first uniaxial Ti6Al4V alloy accelerometer is designed, fabricated through Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) technique and tested. Experimental tests under accelerations show good agreement with theoretical predictions. With differential sensitivity 184fF/g relative dimensions (features $500~\mu \text{m}$ ), proposed opens path to new class 3D-printed metal high-performance, low-cost.
